Choo-Choo Bob's
I found another great outing for those of you with kids that like Choo-Choo's. It is a hobby store called Choo-Choo Bob's in St. Paul (Cleveland and Marshall right by UST). I rank this easily in our top 3 for outings. It is free, easy to park, not crowded and has a TON of train stuff. They have
a good sized working model when you first walk in, even with a motorized Thomas train. They also have a ton of train books and 6 huge Thomas tables set up with different train sets. And did I mention it was free???
The second I asked Fuzz if he wanted to go see the choo-choo's he bolted to the door to the car. We had never been to this place before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The second we got there, Fuzz wasn't sure wher
e he should go there was so much he wanted to do. He sat watching the model train for about 15 minutes and yelled "THOMAS" every time that particular train would whiz by.
Then we headed to the back of the store to find the wealth of Thomas tables. One of the tables had a draw-bridge thing that you could control how it went up and down. Of course, being some sort of switch, Fuzz was obsessed with it for over 10 minutes. He would say to himself, "choo-choo stuck" and then raise the door. We sat at those tables for a really long time as Fuzz just went back and forth among all of the 6 different sets.
For about the next 30 minutes after that, we went back and forth between the working model set and the Thomas tables. I honestly think we could've stayed there all day, but I could tell he was starting to get tired. He sat on the bench next to me watching the model set and put his head in my lap. From the kid that NEVER snuggles, that was a big enough hint ;) We headed to Auntie Jenna's after that for a little bit since we were in their neck of the woods and then headed home to what is hopefully a long naptime :)
