MN State Fair
I must have taken a large dose of the crazy pill this morning
because I took the two kids by myself to the fair today. It went SO much better than I thought it would. Fuzz had such a great time looking at all the animals and of course eating everything in sight.
I'll give you two guesses as to the first thing we ate...surprise, surprise, it was FRIES! You would not believe how much food we ate (and how much $$ too...) but Fuzz wanted to try everything he saw. He tried and ate
more than his fair share of the following things...fries, cheeseburger, ostrich on a stick, cheese curds, fried snickers, fried turkey, chocolate milk and a root beer float to top it all off. I thought I was going to puke because of course I can't put it down either.
Our main goal of the day was to make it to the animal barns and we hit all of these food stands on the way up and back. We headed to the sheep barn first. It was actually really cool because there were some HUGE sheep in there. I think what Fuzz liked best was seeing one of the sheep get buzzed. He asked if the sheep got a sucker be
cause that is what he gets after his haircuts. Fuzz even got to pet a black sheep at the door and waved goodbye as we left.
Next barn was the cow barn. Fuzz didn't love this one as much because most of the cows were sleeping and there wasn't much action. He did like to yell, "MOO" at Reese just as she was falling asleep and scare the sh** out of her though.
Then we headed to the pig barn. I knew he was going to like this one because his favorite book right now (thanks Dow!) is about a pig named Mercy. We walked in and immediately he asked for Mercy. The first grouping of pigs we saw were all black/white and that didn't do since Mercy is pink. Fuzz kept asking for Mercy so we had to walk around until we found a pink one. He immediately waved, said "Hi Mercy" and asked for toast (Mercy's favorite thing to eat in the book).
After the pig barn, we headed to the poultry barn and Fuzz liked getting really close to the ducks to say hi. This was by far the loudest barn as there were turkeys, ducks, geese and one HUGE ostrich.
After all these great adventures, we headed back to the car. About 3 blocks away from the car, Fuzz says, "Tired mama, up?" meaning he wanted to be carried. Dilemma, because Ree
se was in the stroller and Fuzz had been walking the whole time. I threw him on my back and walked that way for the remainder. That did mean that I was drenched in my own sweat once I eventually got back to the car.
The entire car ride home, Fuzz kept talking about how fun Mercy was...thank GOD he isn't old enough to ask for a pig :)
