The first trip of many I'm sure...

Fuzz was absolutely exhausted after he got home from school so after lunch I let him watch a movie for a few minutes before naptime. He got up and slipped in his socks on our floor and took a huge digger on our step. He looked at me and said, "I ok mama," and barely flinched. I saw blood and thought he cut his lip. It honestly took me about 2 minutes to figure out where he was bleeding. As soon as I saw where he was bleeding, I knew it wasn't good as he had split his chin open. We called his doc as well as a few nurses in the family (thanks Dow and Betty) who both recommended to take him in to the doc to get stitches. I had let Fuzz fall asleep by this point so I woke him out of a dead sleep and headed to Children's West. Fuzz didn't understand where we were going but I let him bring his yellow blankie with to hopefully help soothe him. We got there and the nurse immediately brought the doc out. We never actually waited in the waiting room. We went back to the room and they put topical stuff on his chin to numb it. This was GREAT because I was prepared for a novacaine shot to numb him and lots of screaming...We waited for a half an hour for the topical stuff to do its magic all the while Fuzz talking about the "sticker" (band-aid) on his chin. The doc came back in and we ended up with 4 stitches. I told Fuzz that all of the docs tools were Handy Manny's (Stretch, Turner and Flicker were his favorite tools of the docs) and he had a field day with that. We were at the urgent care for under an hour and the doc could not have been nicer (obviously had kids himself). Fuzz wast most excited that he got THREE stickers from the doc and showed all the nurses as we left. I hope to not do this again for a long, long time...
