Grandview Visit
Every year for the past 4, we have headed up north with my family for a weekend of fun, food and golf! We just went up there this past weekend and while we were missing all the kid
s (Meg/Ev, Mike and Davis), we still had a good time. Although we did see many flashes of the terrible 2's ;)
Saturday, we woke up and Fuzz and I went in the pool that has an awesome waterslide. He went down twice with me and the third time he sat down to go and just as I was sitting down he launched himself without being on my lap. All I see is him flipping around going down the slide as he was still a bit small to go by himself. I went flying down after him and I think I was more scared than he was. As soon as I grabbed him he said, "I ok mama" because I think he could tell that I was a tad freaked by the look on my face.
After the pool, we headed down to the lake with Gaga. He thought it was pretty fun to play in the sand and then clean everything off in the lake. He got a little OCD with it though as he couldn't have any sand on him and had to be "all clean" to walk back up. Th
at presented a fun challenge as he had to walk through the sand with wet feet to get to the sidewalk. I ended up having to carry him up.
It was also fun to have Fuzz and Buzz (Luke, who is my cousin that is just a few months younger than Fuzz) get to hang around each other. They didn't really
know what to do with each other until the last night. We were all playing at the playground at the restaurant and Fuzz and Buzz were hanging around on the jungle gym. All of a sudden I hear them having a conversation. It was absolutely hilarious because neither of them knew what the other was saying, but they would both answer "yes" like it made complete sense. They even chased each other around a few times. Also hilarious because neither knew what to do when "caught."
It was also interesting because this was the first trip we have taken that Fuzz has had his own bedroom (Reese slept in the pack n' play in our room). Fuzz did really well except for Sunday morning. I woke up about 7:15 to hear the screen door opening to our cabin. Fuzz was trying to leave and luckily I caught him before he got out ;) All in all, a fun time, but glad to be home as David caught a flu bug on Sat. Now, fingers crossed that neither of the kiddos get it!
