4th of July!
We had a great weekend, even though the weather on the actual 4th was not so hot in the morning. We got up and headed to Auntie Annie's "yake" house as Fuzz calls it on Lake Minnetonka. Fuzz hung out playing with the garage door (up and down for a crazy amount of time...) and then he went to the end of the doc to feed the fish. He didn't quite understand the idea that you had to break up the bread instead of throwing the whole piece in. He also got bored with this activity after about 3 minutes and started eating the bread.
Then, Ann took us all out for a boat ride. Fuzz has been extremely spoiled in that Ann lets him drive the boat. And when I mean drive the boat, I mean literally drive the boat. We all thought she was crazy, especially when Fuzz steered us in a complete circle. Then Fuzz realized where the throttle was and loved to gun it (totally open throttle a few times much to ga-ga's chagrin). This went on until we all reminded Ann it was her boat, not his ;)
We came in from the boat ride and one of the neighbor girls had caught a little fish. Fuzz thought it was pretty cool and touched it multiple times. It made him jump whent he fish moved but he went right up to it and said hi.
After meeting the fish, we ate lunch and played some Wii with the neighbor kids. Can you tell who the big kid is in the picture? I am proud to say I beat a bunch of 10 year olds on ONE race and then got smoked in the rest.
After a long (and I mean long) nap for all of us, we went to the park, dinner and bedtime. We woke Fuzz up about 9:30pm to head to the fireworks at Minikahda. We weren't sure how he was going to react so we were armed with yellow blankie, giraffe (his two must haves to sleep) and a ton of snacks. After the first one went off, I could feel him shaking in my lap so I thought we were going to have a meltdown. Gaga asked him a few times if he liked the fireworks and he would say each time, "all done..."
Then, about 3 fireworks in, we started asking him the colors of the fireworks and he got into that game and forgot that he was afraid. From there on out, he clapped and yelled "ooohhh," "aaaaahhh" and "yeahhhhhhhh" with the rest of the crowd. Although the one time I tried to put yellow blankie back into the bag he wouldn't let me ;) And David sat feeding Reese a bottle the whole time and she could've cared less.
