Fuzz's 2nd Birthday Party!
David and I decided that since he is only turning two, we would do a low-key family party. Both families came over and we just ordered pizza from Davannis and had apps. Perfect night for the both of us AND for Fuzz. He was so excited that he had everyone's undivided attention all night. Before everyone came over, we were going through the list of attendees and he would rattle off all of the family members (he even said "Eghan" and "Ev" thinking they might show up ;). In the picture on the left, he was sitting waiting for everyone to come over.
Once everyone started arriving at our house, Fuzz was doing full sprints, taking Gumpa downstairs to play "choo-choo train," showing everyone his big boy bed in his room, playing "ockey" with Ryan, showing off his books...anything that he could to keep everyone's undivided attention. Once everyone had some apps and a few drinks, the pizza arrived and Fuzz wolfed down a few pieces (as did Payton and Ryan) so they could all continue to play.
Then came the best entertainment of the night. Fuzz had a mini-meltdown because he did not want to go back into his high chair because he thought that meant playtime was over. Not for long as a piece of cake was put in front of him...big cousins Ryan and Payton then sh
owed Fuzz how to eat his cake without using his hands. Fuzz wasn't sure what to think until he tried it. He then ate the rest of his cake without using his hands and by lifting the plate closer to his face to actually shove his face into it (the fact that everyone laughed helped him too ;).
After he had enough sugar to feed a 3rd world country, it was present time. Uncle Matt brought up a toy that I think is going to be a HUGE hit in the house...a mini basketball hoop that will grow with him. When Matty brought the box up, Fuzz screamed at the top of his lungs "WOW." I wasn't sure if he was more excited ab
out the box or what was inside. Either way, he yelled "WOW" again when the hoop actually came out of the box. After it took a little while for it to get put together, Ryan showed Fuzz how to use it and they (and everyone else) played it for a good chunk of the rest of the night. All in all a VERY successful birthday party and thank you to EVERYONE who gave him presents to help us celebrate :)
