Day #1 in Big Boy Bed!
Day #1 went better than expected but I am not holding my breath as today is another day :) Fuzz's big boy bed came yesterday morning when he wasn't here so when he came home, he ran in his room yelling "BED, BED." We made it special to him by getting him a monogrammed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pillowcase (that is his favorite cartoon right now). Below is a picture of before/after in his room.
Naptime started about 1:15 and I sat outside his shut door to see what he would do. He sat in bed for about 2 minutes and then got out and I could hear him play with his John Deere tractor. I went in there and he knew he was supposed to be in bed because as soon as the door opened, he went on a dead sprint back to bed. The whole process took about 45 minutes of me taking the tractor out, pushing his alarm clock that he was playing with back and going in there about 10 times and he finally crashed. He then took a pretty normal 2 1/2 hour nap.
Night-Night time went much easier than we thought it would. We made a big deal of letting him turn on his crickets, pick out two books to read on "Mouse" (his pillow), we tucked him in and sat next to him in bed and then said night-night. We could hear him talking in his room, but from what we could tell, he never got out and was asleep about 15 minutes later. He also got up a little bit earlier than usual but we could hear him talking to "Mouse" in his bed so it wasn't too bad. As I'm knocking on wood, he has also never tried to get out of his room. We will see what day #2 brings though!
