We have waited almost 10 years for this announcement, but Meghan and Evan are ENGAGED! We could not be happier for the two of them. Ev had been waiting for the ring to be shipped up here from the jeweler to propose. Of course, FedEx decided to take its time that day so it didn't get to Ev's house until later in the afternoon...on the day of the snowstorm. He was a man on a mission and he got down on one knee at Minnehaha Falls with an absolutely beautiful ring!
Like an idiot, I didn't get a picture of the two of them but we did get one of the three Ryerse women pledging to allegiance (we were trying to get a picture of all of us with our rings, but it bombed...).
As most of you know, I am terrible at keeping secrets, but this was one that was so much fun to keep! We also were able to throw them an engagement party before Evan had to go back to NY. We had a great time at Old Chicago and we finally got to hang out with Gregor and Jackie (Evan's bro and sis-in-law)! I have known Gregor since I was 17 and he was 13 but it has been over 10 years since I have last seen him. How I know him is a totally different story in itself ;)
We could not be happier welcoming Evan to the family. We have always told Meghan that if something ever happened, we wanted to keep Evan ;)
