Introducing Reese Patricia Aafedt!
Let me start by saying I have a new found respect with families with more than one
child...thank GOD David is home for awhile or I don't know what I would do...
We headed to the hospital about 8am on Friday morning and I must say that this scheduled thing is really nice. I got right in and we were actually ready to go early. I met everyone that was going to be in the room with me and funny enough, the nurse was the same one we had with Fuzz. Dr. Tweedy came in to say hi and off I went to the OR.
Got my spinal and I could've taken a nap...they started the C-section at 10:35 and Reese was born at 11:01. We all had bets on how big she was goin
g to be...I thought 8lbs 2 ozs, David thought 7lbs 5 ozs and Dr. Tweedy thought 8 right on the nose. David won as she came out 7lbs 8ozs and 20.75".
Funny that she weighed exactly the same as Fuzz even though I thought she was going to be a ton bigger. My first question was did she have hair and I was really excited to hear yes! David took her to cut the cord and then went with her to the nursery while they closed me up.
I was so happy to see they brought her down to recovery so I could hold her for awhile. It is crazy to think that we have a little girl. I was quite amazed at the difference in changing
diapers because of the different genetalia. At least I don't have to worry about being sprayed anymore! We headed up to my room to meet the rest of the family (we seriously had about 10 people waiting for us which was awesome!).
Hospital visit was fun and all, but I got antsy day 2 so they let me out on Sunday and we headed home... I will add more commentary about her meeting Fuzz later...off to feed!
