Minnesota's Best Apple Orchard

Because it is MEA this week, we didn't have our "Mommy and Me" class which is my sanity on Thursday's. In that class, all of the kids get to play together and the mom's get to sit together in a classroom and talk and learn about the different phases of the kiddos. Anyway...because we didn't have that class, a few moms and I decided we needed to find something else to do today. We thought the apple orchard would be a good idea and headed down to Minnesota's Best, which is just south of Jordan, MN. What a perfect day to be outside as it was probably high 50's and sunny. When we got there and unloaded all the kids, Fuzz wasn't quite sure what to think of the pumpkins. He finally realized by watching Bella and Katherine (the two little ones his age) that he should try and pick one up. Of course he tries for the ginormous pumpkin that probably weighed 1/2 of him. He tried and he tried and even grunted a few times, but then decided it wasn't worth his time. Then the tractor showed up to take us out to the orchard. Fuzz thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He was so proud of himself for being able to climb up on the tractor all by himself and picked his seat. He then spent the next 10 minutes of the ride just looking around and yelling "vroom, vroom." We tried to get a picture of all three kids, but do you think they ever all looked us at once? Not so much... Once we got to picking, Fuzz didn't know whether or not to run through the rows of trees, pick apples or eat the ones from the ground. I showed him how to pick the apples from the trees and he thought that was so much fun. He also noticed when I threw an apple a few rows over (not near any people though :) because it was gross, so then he decided to pull them off the trees and chuck them straight at the ground. We went back and forth between him picking the apples off the trees, putting them in the bag, taking them out of the bag and eating them. Once I started the first bite of the apple, he loved eating the rest. He thought he was pretty cool that he could get some pretty good sized bites by himself. He was absolutely exhausted on the 30 minute drive home and didn't even make it 5 minutes out of the parking lot before he was snoring and sound asleep in the back seat (notice too tired for goldfish even...) When we got home, he even took another 3 hour nap. I think we might have to hit the apple orchard one more time before the fall is over!
